Japanese Irezumi Tattoos Serving Plano
Japanese tattooing, commonly referred to as Irezumi, has a long history dating back to Japan’s Edo period (1603–1868). This style is known for its dynamic movement, bold imagery, and layered symbolism. Dragons, koi, phoenixes, and other mythological figures are frequently used, each representing specific traits and themes.
Japanese tattoos are traditionally designed as flowing compositions that work with the contours of the body, often telling a larger story through connected imagery. At Lone Star Tattoo, we approach Irezumi with respect for its origins while creating unique designs that reflect the individual wearing them.

More About The Owner of Lone Star Tattoo: Scott Cooksey
Scott Cooksey began tattooing in 1995, gaining early experience at well-known tattoo shops throughout Dallas, including Deep Ellum and downtown. Over time, his dedication to the craft helped him develop a strong reputation within the North Texas tattoo community.
Prior to opening Lone Star Tattoo in 2005, Scott spent years traveling as a guest artist and attending tattoo conventions across the country. These experiences helped shape his disciplined approach to tattooing, combining traditional influences and creative flair with a respect for the art form’s history.
Tattooing Made Simple & Accessible
Every tattoo begins with a conversation. We take time to understand your ideas, aesthetic preferences, and long-term goals before any design work begins. From there, we develop a stunning piece that aligns with your initial concept and the body’s natural flow.
By focusing on collaboration and careful planning, we’re able to produce tattoos that look breathtaking when they’re completed and continue to hold up well as they age.
